Let's layer up

Dress your kids in layers to keep them warm and dry. Check out our guide to optimal dressing for children.

Why layers?

If you dress your children in layers, it will make it easier for them to move and stay active. Layering also allows for temperature regulation by putting on and taking off clothing as the outdoor temperature or activity level changes.

Our clothing collection consists of protective and soft garments in multiple layers for children.

Layer 1 - Underwear

The innermost layer is the one closest to the skin. In our collection, this innermost layer is made of super-soft merino wool and soft bamboo. It is a perfect combination that doesn’t itch and wicks away moisture. This innermost layer keeps the child warm from head to toe.

Layer 2 - Mid-layers

The mid-layer goes on top of the innermost layer. The mid-layer should be elastic and not too tight. It is the air between the layers that creates freedom of movement and helps the child stay warm. In our collection, you can choose from many different mid-layers that keep children comfortably warm and dry.

We have, among other things, fleece pants, fleece jackets in various thicknesses, and lightweight down jackets.

Layer 3 - Outerwear

The outermost layer is the top performer. This is the layer that must withstand the elements every day. Rain, snow, or sleet is no problem for Viking outerwear. Our winter playsuits, outdoor pants, and outer jackets feature Primaloft® or Thinsulate®, ensuring a comfortable body temperature.

Another great option is our lightweight down jackets. Down jackets are suitable year-round. With our outermost layers, the child is well-equipped to play in all kinds of weather.
