How did your interest in nature and outdoor life start? 
I grew up in the countryside as a kid, so nature has always been a part of me. My interest in experiencing every aspect of nature has increased more and more over the years. That&#8217;s what drove me to explore the outdoors to the full. My favourite pastime when I was a kid was going on trips with school, and that&#8217;s something that’s stayed with me until today. Nature is my home, that&#8217;s where I belong.
Which outdoor activity is your absolute favourite, and why? 
Hiking, no doubt. To get away from city life and the everyday stress we experience; to get out and unwind but also to replenish myself with new energy. What&#8217;s better than going to a place where you are one with nature? For me, being able to walk to my favourite places, find peace and strengthen my inner self is invaluable.

How do you prepare physically and mentally for a challenging outdoor expedition? 
To strengthen my body before a trip, I usually pack my bag with all my stuff, and test it in different environments around my home before I go off on a long hike. I find planning is important before a long trip. Prepare your route well in advance and choose the right equipment. Test it in different weather conditions to be prepared for the unexpected.
 
Can you tell us about any memorable experience you’ve had while exploring nature? 
One summer day in 2018, we went out to an area where wolves were said to live in the hope of seeing or hearing them. The day itself didn&#8217;t consist of any great excitement, but as night fell, the wolves came to life. We witnessed howling wolves up close well into the night. It was a very exciting and memorable experience for both me and my girlfriend.
 
In your opinion, what role do outdoor adventures play in well-being and personal development? 
For me, outdoor life plays a big role in my well-being. Once I’m out there, my everyday life is put on pause and it makes me feel calm and happy at the same time.
When I give myself the time to get to know myself better, my mental health and independence are strengthened, something I do best in nature.

Can you share any tips for capturing and documenting nature in the best way, through photography and video filming? 
One tip is to think about the mood of your photos and videos to get the feeling you want the viewer to feel. Why not get help from a campfire and a cup of coffee? Another tip is to think about what time of day you’re shooting. Sunrise and sunset have a softer light and create a cosier atmosphere.

Which of Viking&#8217;s current shoes are your favourite? 
Haha, the big question! I have so many favourites from Viking, but my Anaconda Hike Low GTX get used a lot. It’s an incredibly light and comfortable shoe that works great for expeditions in the forest.

What do you always pack in your backpack? 
Water and food, first aid kit, map and compass for long trips, knife and fire starter, coffee pot and clothes according to the weather.

What&#8217;s your favourite food to cook outside over an open fire? 
A juicy burger always does the trick, or maybe a hot sandwich with different fillings.

What&#8217;s your best advice for beginners looking to get outdoors? 
My best advice is to make it very easy for yourself. Start by exploring the local area, take a thermos with coffee, some food and find yourself a place where you feel at one with nature. Another piece of advice is to dare to give nature a chance, you’ll thank me later!

Share some places on your bucket list? 
There are lots of them, but some of those that are high on the list are Sarek National Park, Lofoten in Norway, Theth National Park in Albania and Yosemite National Park in the United States.
